CABLE TV Turns a New Page with 30-year Legacy Providing TV Programmes via 3 Free TV Channels and Online Platforms

(31 May 2023 Hong Kong) i-CABLE Communications Limited announced CABLE TV has been granted approval by the Government regarding the surrender of the Domestic Pay Television Programmer Service Licence in February this year. CABLETV will terminate its pay TV broadcast tomorrow, 1 June 2023. However, viewers can continuously enjoy our new content including drama, variety, news, finance, sports, and entertainment, through Hong Kong International Business Channel(Channel 76), HOY TV (Channel 77), and HOY Infotainment (Channel 78), the three free TV channels, websites, and mobile apps of the Group.

 

Continue the legacy of Cable TV with 3 free TV channels

CABLE TV has created numerous classic TV programmes for Hong Kong viewers for 30 years with over 120 channels broadcasting and providing viewers with various content, including news and finance, sports, entertainment, etc. The Group intends to leverage developing viewing habits and taking on the new opportunities arising in the local free TV market in recent years, CABLE TV strategically transforms and continues to provide its excellent TV services through HOY Infotainment (Channel 78), free TV channels and online platform starting from tomorrow, 1 June.

 

Hong Kong International Business Channel (Channel 76), HOY TV (Channel77), and HOY Infotainment (Channel 78), the 3 free TV channels, websites, and mobile apps of the Group continue to provide Hong Kong audience with more accurate 24-hours news reporting, as well as extensive choices of variety and dramas. The Group will run other businesses as usual, including broadband telecommunications services, telephony services, network construction, and mobile services.

 

Extended recycling network to over 160 EPD GREEN@COMMUNITY Collection Points

The Group keep pace with the “Green Community” and actively communicated with The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) regarding the recycling arrangement of CABLE TV’s TV set-top box and accessories. To facilitate and encourage the public to use the community recycling facilities, customers can return the TV set-top boxes and the accessories to either the 4 specific collection centers or over 160 collection points of “GREEN@COMMUNITY” operated by the EPD, gaining more support from the public to go green.
